Plastic Surgery

What is Plastic Surgery?

Plastic Surgery can be categorized into 2 components: Reconstructive and Cosmetic/Aesthetic. Reconstructive plastic surgery is performed to repair abnormal structures of the body in order to approximate a normal appearance. It can be used to correct abnormal body structures damaged by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors or disease. The goal of cosmetic or aesthetic plastic surgery is to enhance a patient's appearance.
